Why are more frames per second beneficial?

Selecting the Resolution of 60 fps rather than 30 fps will result in smoother-looking footage.

Recording at a Higher FPS is best for capturing details when in motion, as well as combating Motion Blur.

What resolution should I use?

Ultimately, the choice of resolution is up to you.

If you are using the Dash Cam primarily for capturing vandals, or incidents while away, the higher resolution may be right for you.

However, if you are looking for a smooth video for capturing details while in motion, a higher fps would be best.

We recommend testing both of the options in your vehicle, to determine what your preference is.

How to change the Resolution

Please follow these steps to change the resolution for the Thinkware Dash Cam.

1. Connect to the Dash Cam via Bluetooth (U3000 & Q1000) or WiFi (U1000)

2. Select Dash Cam Settings > Camera Settings

3. Tap "Resolution-front/rear" and select your desired setting

4. A disclaimer pop-up will show stating that changing the resolution will erase all continuous recording videos.

5. To finalize your changes, tap the back arrow in the top-left to save your changes.

Note: The settings vary depending on the dash cam mode
