Rear Camera Disconnected

If you are hearing the message "Rear Camera Disconnected" from your Thinkware Dash Cam at random points in your journey, this may be caused by the Rear Camera itself. Please try all of the troubleshooting steps to remedy this problem.

  • Check for any kinks or abrasions in the rear camera cable.
  • Confirm that the rear camera cable is plugged into the V-IN port, and not the GPS or RADAR port.
  • Check if the Rear Camera is recording video files by connecting to your Thinkware Dash Camera via WiFi or use the PC viewer to confirm when the last recorded video from the rear camera was recorded. Rear camera videos will have an "R" next to the title.
  • Connect to the Dash Cam via WiFI and try using the "live view" option on the Dashcam screen of the mobile app. Please try switching to view the Live View of the Rear Camera by pressing the "R" Symbol in the top-right. If you see only a Black Screen please contact our Customer Support Team.
